I am the Wardrobe Supervisor for the 34th Annual EVVY Awards.This award show has been an important part of my college career as I have been working my way up to this position since freshman year. Your donation will help my team as well as the other creative teams to give us opportunities to put our visions to life!
About the EVVYs:
The EVVY Awards is like no other college production in the country. Modeled after professional shows such as The Emmys and The Academy Awards, The EVVY Awards has become the largest student-produced, multi-camera, live switch event in the nation. This award winning show has become nationally recognized with a first place award at the National Association of College Broadcasters awards and has received two national Telly Awards. Throughout the year, Emerson students can submit their work in a wide variety of categories, creating a very competitive environment right here on campus. These submissions are then sent out to professional judges in their respective field to ensure a fair and experienced judging process. Notable past judges have included Rachel Dratch of Saturday Night Live, Wendey Stanzler, a director from Grey’s Anatomy, and Matt Cheese, editor of Finding Neverland. Previous on stage appearances have included Sean Hayes, Denis Leary, Matt Lauer and John Cusack.

This year for our show, we’d like to expand the creative boundaries of the EVVYs. By raising our goal of $20,000 our teams will be able to afford to make their visions a reality. More than an awards show, the EVVYs is a student-run organization that provides an unmatched learning experience for 300 Emerson students as they create a professional-quality event over 13 months. With your help, these hard working students will be able to meet their full potential and be able to create their vision!

What you'll be funding:
The Banquet
The EVVY Awards offers awards in all major areas of study and focus at Emerson. With close to 50 awards, we end up having to have two different events: The Majestic Show and The Banquet. The Banquet, which is a dinner show, is held 3 weeks before our main show and offers numerous awards to such specialties as journalism, marketing, and online media. The money donated to us would give our designers access to opportunities that would not be available otherwise. Putting more money towards the banquet would allow us to transform our venue (Emerson's Gymnasium) to be fit for an awards show and giving those students who are nominated the best experience they can possibly have. It isn't easy turning a gym into a glamorous 5-star event. Help us make that happen so that all student work is recognized!
Lighting and Scenic Design
The EVVYs is held in the prestigious Cutler Majestic Theatre in Boston. From the help of your donations we can create a spectacular show using the abilities of our scenic and lighting designers. This money can provide our teams with the resources needed to achieve their aspirations. With no limitations they can reach a level of professionalism that is unmatched.

Throughout the year, students can be reassured that they will be taught through hands-on experience how to succeed in the professional world. It's an opportunity for students to get real-world experience before they graduate, which is extremely valuable and far too rare for most college students. Those attending the event will be able to see the caliber of work that Emerson students are capable of producing.Your donation allows hundreds of Emerson students to gain valuable experience to pursue their career-of-choice in the entertainment or marketing industry.

In case you couldn't tell by the Bon Jovi reference, we are now halfway through our campaign! We are mere single digit percentage points away from being at 50%. During these next two weeks, we are going to be trying out hardest to reach our goal of $20,000.
That $20,000 means possibilities for our student teams. It means a high quality, professional production. It means we have a shot at being the best EVVYs yet!

Like all award shows, not every single category can be awarded on camera. That doesn't mean those categories don't deserve the red carpet treatment! The Banquet ensures ALL student nominees are applauded.

This past week, we held our General Meeting and unveiled over TWO HUNDRED job positions that Emerson students can apply for to work on The 34th Annual EVVY Awards. From tech to creative to content to logistics, the production train is constantly moving.
Make sure that our new hires have something incredible to work on! We still have 70% of our fundraising goal to cover and we need your support more than ever.

This just in: Our fundraising campaign now has the blessing of Paula Abdul. In just a few days, we have reached 20% of our fundraising goal. We are hoping to hit 30% by next week!

The MBTA was closed. The snow was (and still is) everywhere. Emerson College was (and still is) closed. But that didn't stop us from launching our campaign!
