Emerson Women's Soccer Takes On The Netherlands
Welcome to Alegra Lopez's Personal Fundraising Page!

Soccer isn't just a sport. It's who I am.
Playing soccer has always been a passion of mine. I've been playing since I kindergarten and it would be a dream come true to get the chance to play overseas in the Netherlands. This will be a trip I'll never forget. It will also be a great opportunity to strengthen my skills and experience a new culture.
Please help support my chance to play the sport I love in the Netherlands!
Emerson College Women’s Soccer has the unique opportunity to play soccer abroad this August, 2015. We will be traveling to the Netherlands before our preseason begins for ten days, allowing us to bond as a team in preparation for our season. This is an opportunity that will only come once every four years and gives us a chance to learn new technical and tactical skills as well as adding some European flavor to our game.
Twenty players will be going on this trip, six of which who have been with the team since their freshmen years, dedicating years of their college careers to play. With seven rising seniors, this is an incredible opportunity to begin their senior years with. This is a chance for us as a team to take our game abroad as well as the beginning of the road to the playoffs. We want this to be the best year we have ever had; a trip to Holland would allow that.
As a team, this trip allows us to experience so many things that Holland has to offer. We will have the chance to embrace the beauty of Amsterdam as a city, along with the Anne Frank Museum and the Cheese and Clog Factory. We have the opportunity to train with KNVB, premier coaches, as well as broaden our game competing with European teams throughout the trip. (http://home.knvb.nl/de-knvb/over-de-knvb/wie-zijn-wij/missie-en-visie/) KNVB is a household name in the Netherlands, and are home to some of the top players around the world.

The word special does not even begin to describe how incredible this team is. We are a close knit group of individuals from all across the country and from all walks of life. Emerson College Women’s Soccer embodies what it is to be an athlete at Emerson. We participate in a sport as well as compete in many extracurriculars that the college has to offer such as the EVVY’s, Emerson Channel and many others. As a team with a GPA among the top 10%, we have won the NSCAA team academic award for the 2014 season. We have also won the NSCAA Sportsmanship award five years in a row. This is the third year that we are competing in the NEWMAC (New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference) and this trip will prepare us for a very successful season.
As college students, we have learned the importance of being financially responsible. As a group of strong, independent women and college students, we are taking the initiative and responsibility of raising the money for this trip ourselves. Emerson College Women’s Soccer greatly appreciates your support and donations. We are very excited to begin the next phase of our soccer careers and eagerly await the 2015 season.
